HEREFORD ARMY CAREERS OFFICE

The Army Careers Office has moved to the TA Centre in Harold Street, Hereford HR1 2QS (entry is via the Records Centre). The telephone number remains 01432 273917 - ring for opening hours. HEREFORD CONNEXIONS CENTRE - NEW OPENING HOURS

The Connexions Centre in St. Peter's Square, Hereford, will be open on Mondays (9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.), Wednesdays (9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.) and Fridays (9.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.) only. The Centre has duty advisers who can help you find a College course, jobs (full and part-time) and apprenticeships. They can also help with anything that's worrying you, e.g. housing, finance, substance misuse, etc. No appointment needed, just drop in. Terena, Connexions Adviser

JOBS FAIR 2011

There is a Jobs Fair on Thursday, 8th September at Hereford Shire Hall (in St. Peter's Square - opposite the Connexions Centre) from 10.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. A whole range of employers will be there looking for full and part-time workers and Christmas staff. LIBRARY SUMMER OPENING HOURS

We will be OPEN as normal on Friday, 15th July. Over the summer holidays the Library will be OPEN Monday to Friday: Monday, 18th July to Friday, 26th August, 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The Library will be CLOSED on Monday, 29th August (Bank Holiday). Tuesday, 30th August to Friday, 2nd September is Enrolment Week. If you would like to visit the Library during this time, please phone in advance to check opening hours. Normal hours (8:15 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) will resume on Monday, 5th September.

RE-ENROLLING FOR SEPTEMBER (A2 AND BTEC STUDENTS)

All students will need to re-enrol on-line at www.mis.hereford.ac.uk/studentdata between Thursday, 18th August and Monday, 29th August. You will be able to pick which of your A2 courses you wish to continue. If you fail to complete this process you will not have a timetable at the start of term and you may find that some courses are full. If you fall into one of the following categories, you MUST re-enrol in person at College on FRIDAY, 2nd September at 9:30 am: students with an ‘E’ or ‘U’ result at AS wishing to continue a subject at A2, students wishing to pick up additional AS subjects.

START OF TERM

The Autumn term for second year students starts on Monday, 12th September at 9.00 a.m. You should collect your timetable from the top of the Business Studies building between 8.30 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. or online from Friday, 9th September - www.mis.hereford.ac.uk/studentdata. Classes will start at 9.15 a.m. on Monday, 12th September. However, if you are picking up an additional AS/GCSE course you should attend these classes from Tuesday, 6th September.

Collect a stationery starter pack from the Library - AMAZING cheap prices! For just £2 you can buy an A4 paper pad, A4 card wallet, pencil, sharpener, black biro, red biro, highlighter, 15cm ruler, eraser and a DVD-RW. UNIVERSITY OF LONDON UNDERGRADUATE OPEN DAYS

The University of London Undergraduate Open Days will take place on Tuesday, 13th and Wednesday, 14th September from 9.30 a.m. - 2.30 p.m. at Senate House. Fifteen Colleges will be represented, including King's, UCL, Central School of Speech and Drama, the Royal Veterinary College, Queen Mary and Royal Holloway. There will be a programme of talks plus tours of some of the Colleges and intercollegiate halls of residence. Pre-register now at www.careers.lon.ac.uk/openday.
